Position Overview
PIMCO is seeking to recruit an experienced Credit Analyst to cover a portfolio of EMEA names in non-financial investment grade and high yield sectors (exact sectors to be determined). Credit analysts at PIMCO specialize in several industries and cover all levels of the capital structure including both investment grade and high yield. They report into the Head of European Credit Research and Global Head of Credit Research.
Essential Job Functions
- This position will have sole responsibility for his or her sector including managing the analysis and making the recommendations.
- Responsibilities include:
- Generating and proactively communicating investment ideas to Portfolio Managers
- Providing fundamental and relative value research
- Producing written reports such as company evaluations, quarterly updates, relative value analyses and industry reviews
- Responding to Portfolio Manager enquiries regarding credit concerns, market overviews, and sector changes
- Occasional interaction with clients or client service professionals
Requirements
- Ideally 3 + years of experience in HY credit research or 2+ years investment banking experience
- Sector expertise in Energy and Chemicals highly desirable
- Outstanding skills in conducting in-depth, fundamental credit research including financial modeling and relative value analysis
- Demonstrate the ability to make judgments regarding a company’s competitive position, risk and valuation
- Proactive in generating successful investment ideas, including taking the lead in advocating investment ideas and opportunities to Portfolio Managers
- High level of numeracy and attention to detail
- Exceptional communication skills with a strong command of the English language (verbal and written skills)
- Ability to prioritize competing demands for time and cover the industry research with minimal direction
- Strong academic track record ideally with CFA, Accountancy or MBA qualifications
