I am delighted to be searching for a passionate, dynamic and self-motivated Sports Participation Manager to promote an active and healthy community through effective partnerships and programme development across multiple Leisure Centres and local communities.
The Sports Participation Manager will work closely with central, regional and site teams as well as key stakeholders. This role will ensure the Healthy Communities service contributes to national and local outcomes, improving the health and wellbeing of local residents, reducing inequalities across priority demographics.
The main responsibilities of the Sports Participation Manager are:
- To be responsible and accountable for implementing the Healthy Communities Plan (and associated KPIs).
- To prioritise partnership working, establishing and maintaining links with organisations locally, regionally and nationally and representing the company on local stakeholder forums and groups.
- Improve the health and wellbeing of local residents by identifying opportunities to add value.
- Increase local physical activity levels, driving footfall into the leisure centres and maintaining a focus on the contract's member retention plan.
- Maximising opportunities for the community to access leisure facilities through new activity programmes, health initiatives and community programming across all facilities.
The candidate:
- At least 4 months experience within a healthy community/ health & wellbeing/ sports development based role.
- Proven experience of programme management, within budgets and leading on service level agreements with leading on key healthy community/ health & wellbeing/ sport development and community programmes.
- An awareness of the roles of Active Partnerships, National Governing Body initiatives, a local Healthcare network, the voluntary sector and Local Authorities.
- Qualification to National Governing Body Level 1 is desirable.
- Safeguarding, Child Protection and First Aid qualifications are desirable.
