Core Portfolio Manager
We have two Associate Core Portfolio Manager opportunities within BlackRock's Fundamental Equity business. The supporting teams are Strategic Equity & Global Emerging Markets, both roles are based in London. We're seeking two high-performing individuals with a strong focus on the operational & control aspects of the investment process. The ideal candidates will thrive in a demanding environment, adeptly handling both daily market-sensitive tasks & broader project goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a deep understanding of the team's long only & long short investment vehicles, their markets and their regulatory / operational constraints.
- Equitise cashflows & implement equity, derivative, & FX orders partnering with global trading desks to target efficient execution.
- Monitor funds to ensure effective investment strategy implementation & optimize team governance & controls.
- Act as an Aladdin super-user, facilitating training & usage within the investment team.
- Leverage technical & programming skills to enhance processes & reduce operational risk.
- Ensure minimal distractions for the Portfolio Manager.
- Represent the Portfolio Manager interacting extensively with multiple internal stakeholders within Business Operations, Investments, Legal & Compliance, Portfolio Compliance, RQA, & Institutional Client Business.
- Collaborate within the Global Core Portfolio Manager's structure to identify best practices & participate in projects to drive operational changes & scale team processes.

Knowledge/Experience:
- Passion for & knowledge of equity markets and, ideally, hedge funds.
- 3-5 years of experience in a related finance role, with a degree in business/finance or computing/financial engineering would be a strong advantage.
- IMC qualification preferred.
- Intermediate proficiency in Python, including experience with version control systems like ADO or GitHub, & a solid understanding of SQL & relational database structures.
- Knowledge of Aladdin tools an advantage.
