About Freja
Freja is the UK’s leading bone broth brand, a category that sits between premium ingredients and functional food, with an ecommerce-first business model. Following 4 years of rapid growth and a recent investment round, we are refreshing our brand and building a team to scale the business. We’re a small internal team that punches above our weight. We operate a flat structure and a ‘get things done’ mentality. We all roll our sleeves up and execute.
About the Role
The role takes direct revenue responsibility for Freja’s ecommerce channels (Shopify, Amazon, £10m+), budget responsibility for paid media spend (Meta, Google, Amazon, £2m+). The Head of Digital will also assist the Retail team in growing the retail.com channel (Ocado, Tesco etc) and play a key part in the EU expansion of the Freja brand. You will manage a small team consisting of a Paid Media Specialist, Content Strategist, Ecommerce Consultant, and work closely across the broader business with Marketing.
Primary areas of responsibility:
- Online Trading: Ensure revenue targets are exceeded on each platform for each product range.
- Online Merchandising: Deliver a profitable post-click journey via product and content merchandising.
- Customer Acquisition: Use paid and organic tactics to exceed customer acquisition volumes within agreed ncCPA parameters.
- Customer Retention: Use subscription, loyalty, and lifecycle marketing tactics to drive monthly increases to cohort LTV.
Secondary areas of responsibility:
- Marketing: Work closely with the Marketing team to deliver campaigns that drive total business revenue, create effective assets for digital platforms, and maintain a consistent brand presence across all channels.
- Retail: Assist the Retail team with relevant expertise to grow the retail.com channel.
- Supply Chain: Work with the Operations team to improve inventory cover, product listing integrity, and post-purchase customer experience via delivery and customer service.
- Finance: Work with the Finance team to improve forecasting and reporting, with particular emphasis on marketing spend, discounting and inventory cover.
About You
You’re not only fantastic at the technical media buying side of paid social and search, but you also understand the bigger picture of ecommerce customer acquisition. This means you can identify and exploit audience opportunities by formulating an effective media strategy, working with the commercial, creative, and website teams to achieve your objectives.
IMPORTANT: Efficient expansion is the name of the game here, and you'll be challenged to prove incremental margin contribution beyond in-platform CPA / ROAS metrics, and to consistently move budgets upwards in the funnel.
