About your team

Fidelity Solutions and Multi Asset (SMA) is a global team. Assets are divided equally both between retail and institutional clients, and between equity based and multi asset products. Around half of our clients are based in Europe, including the UK, with the remainder split between Asia (including Japan) and the Middle East. The team has expertise in three key disciplines: Solutions Design, Tactical Asset Allocation and Strategy Selection. As well as managing a range of different products drawing on these investment disciplines, the team is also a provider of investment related services. The Investment Management Oversight, Sub-Advisory team focus on providing support for the oversight of the key service providers and third-party investment advisors of the multi manager funds. This includes Operational Due Diligence (ODD) on investment advisers within SMA.

About your role

  • Undertake Operational Due Diligence (ODD) on both ongoing and prospective investments, covering business structure, staffing, compliance / conflicts of interest, trade operations, cash controls, disaster recovery, valuation etc. and recommending action to external managers where Fidelity requires additional comfort.
  • Assisting with Multi Asset Private Market ODD process on new investment opportunities and refreshes.
  • Compiling and reviewing background searches on key individuals and/or companies with which Fidelity is engaged for investment.
  • Creation of timely management information reporting to decision making groups and governance bodies based on information collated from investment managers.
  • Advising investment management teams on the results of ODD reviews.
  • Work closely with Fidelity's Investment, Legal, Investment Risk and Compliance teams and ensure that appropriate action is taken to resolve escalated risks and issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Periodic monitoring on Fidelity's investment managers, ensuring that relationships are being managed effectively.
  • The role may require some day-to-day oversight of key metrics and queries from outsourced managers and service providers.
  • Ad-hoc project work.

Organisation and development:

  • Liaising with internal teams on their operational and ODD needs.
  • Collaborating with the business teams on the promotion of operational and ODD services.
  • Coordinating regular reviews of ODD product content and coverage, e.g. in line with regulatory changes or industry best practices.
  • Working with the internal team to enhance current processes and reduce risk.

About you

  • Proven public market investment management ODD experience.
  • Experience in leading ODD visits advantageous.
  • Private market ODD experience preferred.
  • Good understanding of the investment management compliance and regulatory environment.
  • Good understanding of fund structures, operations, investment processes and strategies.
  • Exhibit a high level of initiative, strong organisational skills and drive with the ability to prioritise workload and deal with conflicting priorities.
  • Background of working in a client facing position and with senior stakeholders preferred.
  • Industry specific qualification strongly recommended; IMC, CFA, CAIA etc.
