The Role: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Technology to lead our UK technology function. This role is based in Solihull and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our local and global operations. Reporting to the European Chief Technology Officer, you will combine hands-on technical expertise with strategic leadership, managing a talented team of engineers while driving the development of our software products for the gas and electricity markets. This position requires a balance of hands-on coding in C# .NET, architectural vision, and managerial oversight. You will work closely with teams across France, Belgium, and Australia to enhance our global technology capabilities and ensure alignment with business goals and market trends. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the UK product development team, ensuring high-quality delivery. Develop and execute a strategic technology roadmap aligned with Energy One’s objectives. Drive hands-on coding and guide engineers to adopt secure, high-quality coding practices. Collaborate with global teams to align architectural initiatives with group strategy. Oversee DevOps and infrastructure teams for secure, cost-effective product hosting. Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including energy retailers and traders. Manage third-party vendors and ensure compliance with ISO27001 standards. What We’re Looking For: Proven expertise in C# .NET coding and software development. Strong experience with AWS or Azure cloud environments and DevOps pipelines. Demonstrated success in leadership roles within technology-driven environments. Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Familiarity with energy markets or wholesale trading software is a plus.
