The purpose of this role is to lead and drive the sustainable growth of the Wellbeing business, both in the short and long term. The Managing Director - Wellbeing will work within the Wellbeing Team (EMEA) to ensure that the structure within Wellbeing is aligned to the corporate strategy, ensuring the ongoing commercial success of the organisation. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the structure and working practices that are in place support sustainable growth in the short and long term.
- Deliver and exceed the income and gross profit targets agreed for the Wellbeing business and key initiatives defined in functional plans.
- Work with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to enhance value propositions, business and strategic partnerships to accelerate the Wellbeing growth.
- Accountability and ownership for development and delivery of functional plans as part of broader business strategy to deliver agreed targets/KPIs, including in year delivery and helping to shape the ‘to be’ future.
- Structure, lead, manage, develop and motivate the Wellbeing team within a collaborative culture to ensure that individual, team and departmental objectives are met, as well as those of our shared services.
- Provide effective, visible, inspirational leadership and purposeful collaboration with a wide range of partners and stakeholders, internally and externally where required.
- Drive high performance, success and best practice within the Wellbeing team, adopting a ‘high challenge, high support’ approach.
- Effectively manage all resources available to deliver set targets.
- Provide regular reporting to Chief Executive Officer and Group Leadership Team, summarising current and forecast performance levels across a range of metrics.
About you:
Experience:
- Excellent people management skills, with an inspirational and effective leadership, coaching and development style.
- Managing teams across multiple locations and territories.
- Commercially astute, demonstrable acumen for financial analysis, planning and budgeting.
- Developing and implementing strategic business plans and goals.
- Leading a wellbeing business, incorporating functional aspects relating to corporate gyms, coaching or wellbeing services.
- Senior sales/client management experience, with a proven track record in business-to-business sales within the public and private sectors.
- Identifying and developing successful commercial partnerships with customers, suppliers and other significant third parties.
- Working closely and collaboratively with key stakeholders within an organisation in order to deliver business unit objectives.
- Driving an insight-led culture to ensure that evidence-based decisions are made in relation to the target operating model, including but not restricted to; propositions, processes and people.
- Leading major projects, change initiatives and programmes through development to implementation and delivery.
Skills:
- Dynamic, insightful and influential leader with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels.
- Ability to influence and collaborate at all levels, communicating and presenting plans to senior audiences across the organisation.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with experience of engaging with a wide range of stakeholders using a variety of mediums, e.g. meetings, presentations, reports.
- Ability to prioritise projects, programmes, resources and objectives through to delivery.
- Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision-making and the courage to challenge the norm.
- Energetic, highly self-motivated with an enquiring approach, passion for excellence, continued improvement and innovation in pursuit of business growth and success.
- Excellent English language skills (written and verbal).
- Strong IT skills.
- Active curiosity to explore and adapt new techniques, technologies and methods that support plan delivery.
- High integrity and openness combined with a commitment to effective and proportionate governance.
- Ability to understand cultural differences between different territories.
Desirable: Multilingual skills, specifically in Dutch.
