An established and successful independent firm of chartered accountants is seeking a Semi-Senior Accountant to join their growing team based in Liverpool. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to expand their experience and develop their career within accounts.
They are looking for a professional with enough experience to be able to fully prepare and draft SME annual statutory accounts with limited guidance. You will be required to work with a variety of clients including limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships who have a large range of turnovers. The role is client-facing engaging with them via email and telephone as well as occasionally face to face. Whilst they need candidates with experience to successfully execute the key duties, coaching and development would also be available for the role. The role is hybrid with ideally 2/3 days in their City Centre office. The roles would suit someone at a semi-senior level looking for a position and company where they can settle.
Key Responsibilities:- Preparation of management accounts
- Communicating confidently with clients regarding queries and missing information
- Preparation and finalisation of Financial Statements for non-audit clients (Limited companies, Sole traders, Partnerships, Trusts, Pension Schemes and LLP's)
- Preparing accounts from incomplete records
- Preparing accounts working papers and producing a file for manager review
- VAT calculations and submissions
- Liaison with HMRC
- Assisting on audit assignments
- Strong knowledge of double entry bookkeeping and ability to manage most technical accounting tasks without supervision
- Assisting a team of Senior Accountants
