The Hardware Automation and validation engineer will work within a cross functional team working on “new product development” and “research and development” projects. The successful engineer will be responsible for the system integration/development and validation of all Azenta life Science store products. * Integrating/configuring and developing system solutions which include automation and robotics equipment. * Configure hardware and software to complete various verification tests at device level including sub-assemblies. * Carrying out various tests from component level to full system life cycle tests, to help assess their reliability and suitability. * Serves as the primary technical interface (automation and validation specialist) within a cross functional development team, providing support to Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing and Software departments. * Support and validates any quality investigations. * Work within a team or under their own initiate. * Create/ maintain engineering documentation of test results for analysis. * Defining processes and test procedures. The position Based in Irlam, Manchester Occasional international site travel maybe required for training, investigation or support, very infrequent General supervision of work with assignments that require a thorough and practical knowledge of the technical or business discipline. May be assigned larger projects as part of product development or continuous improvement process. Training will be provided for the right individual The Candidate * Experience working within an automation industry or similar role * Servo motion control experience but not compulsory as training will be provided. * Logical thinking, and methodical approach to problem solving * Willingness to learn and tackle new technologies * Excellent PC skills and report writing skills. Predominately Excel and Word. * Excellent attention to detail and communication skills. * An ability to record actions step by step in order to retrace steps when an issue is found. * Excellent attention to detail and an eye for spotting anomalies. * Proficient with tools, systems, and procedures required by the work
