In this role you will join Investec Wealth and Investment as part of the portfolio management function. This will require critical analysis of macro and financial trends, and interpretation of research output to construct and manage portfolios on behalf of private clients, SIPPs, trusts, charities and corporates. The key objective is to provide high quality, professional portfolio management services to a variety of stakeholders – both in terms of portfolio management and client servicing.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop knowledge of, and comply with, all regulatory and organisational requirements/procedures.
- Liaise with client relationship managers to ensure the business meets client objectives.
- Keep abreast of operational and administrative procedures.
- Provide general administrative support to the team.
- Construction of portfolios using a range of asset classes to meet investment objectives as directed by a competent Portfolio Manager.
- Build orders as directed by a competent Portfolio Manager.
- Contribute ideas to the development of investment strategy on portfolios and team investment models.
- Provide support with the production of material for weekly team investment meetings.
- Develop and build knowledge of portfolio construction theory.
- Monitor portfolio performance against objectives and benchmarks.
- Develop proficiency in tools such as Factset, Blackrock P360 and FE Analytics.
- Prepare schemes to illustrate portfolios for potential new clients.
- Attend meetings with a variety of external asset managers.
- Liaise with the Investment and Research Office on investment ideas.
- Keep abreast of financial news and global investment themes.

Qualifications:
- Hold or be working towards the Investment Advice Diploma (level 4)/IMC.
- You will be expected to obtain the CFA/CWM within 3 years.
- You will be encouraged to complete the CFA Certificate in ESG Investing.
- Keep an up to date record for continued professional development (CPD).
