You will lead the strategic direction and oversight of governance practices across the Association. This position is important to ensuring our governance framework is compliant. You will be accountable for global governance meetings, instilling governance best practice, and the continuous improvement of governance standards. You will report to the Chief People Officer and will have two direct reports, based in the US and UK. Your fixed term contract will conclude at the end of 2025. This role is remote-friendly.
You Will:
- Develop and implement a governance strategy to meet the Association's goals and oversee the implementation of governance frameworks across all regions and departments.
- Monitor global regulatory developments and latest trends in governance, providing insight and recommendations to Leadership on potential impacts and opportunities.
- Evaluate and improve governance processes to enhance transparency and accountability.
- Present reports on governance activity for the Board.
- Oversee activities about the Association Board, Governing Committees, Governing Councils and AGM planning processes, including preparation of materials, governance programme development, minutes and oversight of meeting logistics.
- Be the staff liaison to Association Board and Board Committees.
- Oversee annual volunteer planning and provide leadership reports to support the annual volunteer appointments meeting.
- Oversee the Annual Nominations Committee meeting and process.
- Oversee Association Governance team operations and Governance budget.
- Oversee/deliver Board and staff liaison/committee secretary training plan.
- Direct governance reporting requirements including financial reporting and modern slavery.
- Travel to some offsite meetings or events in consideration of Governance.
You Have:
- 8+ years experience in Governance, with a leadership role.
- 3+ years horizon planning experience.
- Understanding of governance structure and goals.
- Experience compiling board packs, using software such as diligent.
