Essential Background:

  • Working with RDBMS PostgreSQL and Oracle for application development, database placement, design tuning, DDL promotion, and upgrades.
  • Ideally SQL Server in addition to one of the above.
  • Designs, constructs, and oversees complex databases.
  • Develop database solutions, analyse structural requirements, and experience in designing conceptual and logical data models.
  • Self-motivated and willing to pick up new database challenges.
  • Ideally demonstrable exposure to NoSQL technology (Couchbase, Cassandra).
  • Graduate or postgraduate qualifications, ideally with experience in a financial company (fintech).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Jira, Rally, Kanban, Confluence) is preferred.
  • DevOps skills (GIT, Liquibase); cloud exposure and knowledge of Ansible and Terraform are a bonus.
  • Ability to think outside the box and not depend solely on runbooks.
  • Team player.
  • May be required to work outside normal working hours if needed.
