They are now seeking a Network Consulting Engineer for an initial 6-month contract based in Aberdeen.

This role involves network design, implementation, and deployment, requiring the ability to lead projects from initial design through to implementation. You will take ownership of technical challenges, ensuring the necessary steps are taken to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead network design, implementation, and deployment projects, ensuring successful delivery.
  2. Provide expert-level support to clients and act as an escalation point for network and security-related incidents.
  3. Troubleshoot and diagnose complex enterprise networks to resolve issues effectively.
  4. Deliver low-level design (LLD) documentation, implementation services, and consultancy.
  5. Mentor and support junior team members.
  6. Participate in the on-call rota as required.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  1. Proven experience in a similar consulting or field-based networking role.
  2. CCNP certified with expertise in Routing, Switching & Security.
  3. Strong knowledge of network security principles and related technologies.
  4. Extensive experience with enterprise network troubleshooting and WAN technologies.
  5. Deep understanding of routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP.
  6. Hands-on experience with the following is essential:
  7. Cisco Routers – ISR and ASR series (2900/4000/1000ASR)
  8. Cisco Switching – Catalyst series (3850/3650/2960X/4500X), STP, VTP, VSS
  9. Data Centre Networking – Cisco Nexus (5K/7K/9K), vPC, VDC
  10. Security – Cisco ASA Firewalls, Cisco FirePOWER IPS & Threat Defence, IPSec VPNs
  11. Cloud Networking – Azure & AWS environments
  12. Wireless – Cisco Wireless (C9800 WLCs)
  13. Cisco SD-WAN, Cisco DNA Center (DNAC) & Cisco Prime
  14. Palo Alto Networks Firewalls
  15. Cisco Hyperflex & UCSx

Desirable Skills:

  1. Experience with Cisco Meraki (Wireless, Security, and Switching)
  2. Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine)
  3. Cisco ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure)
  4. HP & Aruba networking platforms
  5. Cisco DevNet API & SDK
  6. Security Clearance Requirement
  7. Candidates must be eligible to pass Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) clearance as required by Warwickshire Police.

£450PD – £500PD (Outside IR35)
