We have an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of our Sustainability and Sage Foundation team, to drive the climate agenda across Sage, our colleagues, customers and partners to lead the operational execution of our climate strategy globally, successfully managing the risks and opportunities of climate change. You will have the opportunity to shape, learn and grow through working with diverse internal and external stakeholders to deliver real impact and ensure Sage is delivering on our climate commitments.

You will drive execution of Sage’s Climate Strategy as part of the broader Sustainability Strategy. This includes developing an implementation plan, monitoring performance and reporting progress to the relevant stakeholders. You will report to the Director of Climate and Environment, working closely with the Sustainability EVP and relevant internal and external stakeholders, particularly procurement, facilities, risk and communication teams. You will go beyond climate risk to consider related opportunities, strategic partnerships, and our ambition. It will be a key enabler of our Sustainability Strategy. You will also lead on the identification, governance, and execution of strategic initiatives linked to this Strategy ensuring alignment with wider Corporate Strategy. You will monitor and report on performance against targets and communicate climate change and environmental issues to stakeholders.

This is a hybrid opportunity, with 3 days working out of either our Newcastle or London office.

Key Responsibilities

The Climate Performance Senior Manager will take the helm in delivering our Protect the Planet strategy. You’ll lead climate transition planning, embedding it within risk management and strategic frameworks. Your role includes conducting climate risk assessments, aligning with TCFD recommendations, and reporting on transition plan performance in sustainability reports and CDP disclosures. You’ll maintain and enhance our climate transition plan, ensuring compliance with evolving regulations like TCFD, CSRD, TNFD, and CDP reporting. Staying ahead of climate trends, you’ll provide key insights, extend our target-setting framework, and design KPIs for climate and nature risks. Your expertise will help identify GHG reduction opportunities across operations and the value chain while driving strategic roadmaps. You’ll also play a crucial role in engaging stakeholders—from the board to operational teams—ensuring sustainability is embedded across the business.

We need a strategic thinker with strong commercial and financial acumen, capable of assessing risks and opportunities and clearly communicating their impact to senior stakeholders. You should have a deep understanding of climate disclosures and ESG reporting requirements, including governance, strategy, risk management, and metrics. You’ll thrive in a complex, matrix environment, bringing a passion for operationalising strategy and successfully delivering key initiatives. Analytical skills are essential—you must be highly numerate, comfortable handling large datasets, and able to translate insights into action. With excellent planning, organisation, and stakeholder management skills, you’ll work autonomously while influencing decision-making at all levels. Strong communication and collaboration skills are key, ensuring progress is tracked and reported effectively. Experience in a multinational corporation or top consultancy is ideal.
