My client is a Global Blue Chip FMCG firm with a well renowned collaborative and people centric culture. Their highly innovative and world-class procurement function has recently undergone an exciting restructure to align regional and global reporting lines which has created an opportunity for a driven Strategic Sourcing Manager to join the business.
They seek an experienced packaging procurement professional to take the lead on a variety of strategic sourcing initiatives across EMEA for the Flexible Packaging category encompassing a spend of c.$110 million. The flexible packaging strategic sourcing manager will be responsible for the implementation and delivery of procurement strategies which create value, mitigate supply chain risks and help drive sustainability and supplier innovation.
The firm are offering a day rates of £300 – £370 per day (Inside IR35) and have signed off an initial 9 month contract with the view to extend subject to business approval, release of new budgets and the nature of requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead procurement activities to drive value across cost, supply security and sustainability.
- Analyse spend data and market conditions, create should-cost models and present business cases to launch sourcing initiatives.
- Develop & execute supplier negotiation strategies and manage the supplier selection process.
- Identify opportunities to innovate, improve sustainability and simplify flexible packaging materials.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders and identify opportunities to manage new spend.
Desired Experience:
- CIPS or MCIPS qualified and / or University Degree.
- Minimum 5 years in Procurement and 2 years in Flexible Packaging Procurement.
- Strong communicator, collaborator, negotiator, and proven commercial acumen.
- Strong stakeholder management and supplier relationship management experience.
- Ability to problem solve and think analytically.
- Knowledge of packaging commodities, markets and strategies to mitigate supply risk / drive value.
- Ability to build relationships with cross functional teams / departments / regions.
- Able to adapt to business change and transformation.
- Experience working within a global procurement environment within FMCG or Retail preferably.
- Expertise in strategic sourcing within packaging.
- Able to leverage eProcurement tools and systems to provide insights / generate savings etc
- Ability to operate at pace, act as a driver for change and achieve goals.
