We are seeking a Safety Engineer on behalf of our reputable client within the Maritime Defence industry to ensure the highest safety standards across innovative maritime projects. This is your chance to be part of a team delivering cutting-edge solutions while ensuring safety excellence in a high-stakes, fast-paced environment. What You’ll Do: Serve as the key authority for Product Safety Assurance in the design and delivery of equipment, meeting customer requirements. Provide expert guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders. Integrate safety considerations throughout the entire product lifecycle . Maintain and evolve the Project Safety Management System (PSMS) for design and delivery processes. Resolve complex Product Safety issues, produce technical reports, and deliver impactful presentations. Develop comprehensive safety arguments for various equipment using the full product safety lifecycle . Ensure compliance with statutory, business, and customer safety standards in heavy-duty equipment. Collaborate effectively within a team of Product Safety Engineers. Your Skills and Experience: Proven expertise in Product Safety Engineering, with a strong track record of delivering PSMS within complex systems. In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and standards (e.g., HASAWA, COSHH, REACh, BS EN 61508, Def Stan 00-056, Def Stan 00-055). Degree in Engineering, Systems, or a relevant Safety discipline. Desirable: Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent experience, with the ability to achieve chartership in the near term. Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., SCSC, SaRS, IET, IMechE).
