Astute's Renewables team is partnering with a leader in renewable energy, renowned for its commitment to sustainability and innovation. With over 25 years of experience, our partner develops and builds wind and solar farms, as well as battery and hydrogen projects worldwide. Their specialist teams handle every aspect of project development and implementation - from site assessment, planning and engineering through to operational management and maintenance of assets.

Responsibilities and duties

  • Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will develop onshore wind, battery, and hybrid energy projects, including other renewable technologies.
  • Engage and manage consultants and review expert studies and impact assessments for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and coordinate planning applications, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Environmental Statements (ES), and appeal documentation.
  • Coordinate and negotiate planning compliance submissions and monitor reporting schedules.
  • Represent the company in planning and other site-related matters, ensuring effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Create and maintain project documentation to meet company standards and external monitoring requirements.
  • Deliver projects within budget and on time, managing invoice and payment schedules, and highlighting any risks or concerns to management.

Professional qualifications

  • Academic degree in planning, environmental, or engineering disciplines.
  • Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience.
  • Strong understanding of planning policy and environmental impact regulations.
  • Extensive experience with site assessment, planning application/consent processes, including environmental impact assessments for major renewable energy projects.
  • Working towards or holding a professional qualification (MRTPI, MRICS, MIEMA, MICE) is advantageous.

  • An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organised, efficient, and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently on specific tasks.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Capable of working effectively within a team and managing external stakeholders.
  • Able to travel frequently throughout Scotland with a full driving license and access to a vehicle.
