General Manager – Aldwickbury Park Golf Club – Harpenden, Hertfordshire Location: Aldwickbury Park Golf Club, Piggottshill Lane, Harpenden, Hertfordshire, AL5 1AB Who are we? Established in 1995 Aldwickbury Park Golf Club is one of the most welcoming golf clubs in Hertfordshire and it is one of only a handful of clubs in the area that offer two golf courses. In recent years the Club has earned an excellent reputation for the condition of its golf courses, in particular the greens, that are recorded as some of the truest in the county. It also has superb facilities, including a large function suite, making it a popular venue for corporate golf days, weddings and as a function destination. What will you do? Your primary accountability will be maintaining the balance between golf membership, visitor golf rounds and group golf to an optimum and sustainable level, whilst driving associated secondary spends from golfers and guests, particularly the casual food & beverage proposition. Secondary, is to maximise the occupancy levels, incomes and profitability delivered by the function business, ensuring that the quality of food, beverage and service, are of a consistent, high level and that margins and payroll are actively managed to achieve agreed levels. Experience you MUST have? Experience as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager is essential. A proven record of successfully managing site operations and people is essential. Proven record in a commercial leisure/hospitality environment where success was measured through operational standards, customer satisfaction and sustained growth in profitability is essential. Experience in managing a large team spread across different departments is essential. Golf and/or large function experience is desirable. A sports and club membership understanding is desirable.
