Senior Internal Auditor Location: CambridgeContract: Temporary (3-months initial)Rate: £28.00 per hour umbrella // £25.15 per hour PAYE Inclusive // £22.44 per hour PAYE exclusiveStart Date: ASAP *Hybrid Working*Contact: .uk Job Description Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in Cambridge for a Senior Internal Auditor to join the team on a temporary basis. The postholder will be required to support the Head of Shared Internal Audit in delivering an effective Internal Audit function covering areas such as contracting and partnership arrangements; information governance and ICT, project and programme management and corporate governance and risk. Main Responsibilities Complete a range of audits, including risk-based audits and key financial systems reviews, as set out in the annual Audit Plan approved by the relevant Audit Committee. Prepare reports on the effectiveness of controls in mitigating risks and compliance with relevant legislation, Council policies and procedures. Make recommendations and agree appropriate actions with management to mitigate any control weaknesses identified or any areas of non-compliance. Respond to requests from management for audit advice / input into Council activities, including, but not restricted to, projects, contracting and procurement, system procedures, efficiencies and business transformation changes. Undertake special investigations, including whistleblowing reviews, on behalf of management as and when required. Supervise and carry out peer reviews as appropriate to individual audits.
