Role Overview
This is a hands-on, field-based position supporting the installation, maintenance, and servicing of industrial shredding systems, including twin-shaft shredders, hydraulic ram-fed machines, and high-torque, low-speed material reduction equipment. You’ll travel to customer sites to keep machines running at their best - handling fault diagnosis, repairs, commissioning, and preventative servicing. You’ll have access to a local Midlands-based parts container and work closely with an experienced HQ-based engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, and repair twin-shaft industrial shredders and hydraulic feed systems
- Commission new machinery and ensure proper integration at customer sites
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical faults independently
- Work closely with head office to plan jobs, request parts, and report on tasks completed
- Provide exceptional on-site support and represent the business professionally
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 3 years experience in mechanical field service or industrial machinery maintenance
- Knowledge of hydraulics, mechanical assemblies, and LV electrical systems
- Ability to read technical drawings and use diagnostic tools confidently
- Experience working on heavy-duty equipment such as shredders, crushers, balers, or conveyors is ideal
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally
- MIG/stick welding skills or forklift experience would be an advantage
