As our company grows and develops, we are ever expanding our teams. We have a great opportunity for a dedicated Associate Director - Delay to join our Advisory Division. SOCOTEC Advisory is a chartered quantity surveying and expert witness consultancy, renowned for its team of industry-recognised experts and delivery of robust and quality services. Our team is made up of approximately 60 Quantity Surveyors with a broad spectrum of experience. This allows the delivery of services across most sectors, including residential, infrastructure and marine, in both public and private sectors and enables expertise to be shared across the company.

We are looking for a proactive, reliable and flexible Associate Director to oversee the Management of Forensic Planning team reporting to the Senior Director. You will be responsible to take a brief from a client or its legal team, identify appropriate methodology for analysis of delay, identify the information required to deliver an appointment and to assist in developing budgets and work-plans to implement appointments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Excellent report writing skills including competence to prepare reports (or parts thereof) suitable to use in adjudication, arbitration or litigation
  • Excellent forensic analysis skills for delay and project management tasks
  • Competent to analyse delay in construction and infrastructure projects using any appropriate analysis methodology
  • Capable to select and implement an analysis methodology to suit the particular circumstances of the appointment
  • Independent critical evaluation of project management performance
  • Legal and contractual understanding of the status of expert evidence in adjudication, arbitration and litigation
  • Highly knowledgeable in construction processes and technologies
  • Commitment to lifelong learning
  • Ability to share knowledge through mentoring and training
  • Good management skills in identifying work activities to be completed and collaborating to resolve the tasks
  • Management skills to identify and match available resources and skills with applicable deadlines
