Our client, established for over 40 years, designs and manufactures large scale machinery. They have become one of the leading experts in their field and their products are exported throughout the world. They work with a wide range of customers from the smallest SMEs to the largest multi-nationals. On their behalf we are recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their In-house design team.
Job description:
- Initial concept drawing of various size projects.
- Generation of 3D models and assemblies.
- Produce detailed engineering drawings for manufacture.
- Amend drawings to meet customer requirements.
- Site visits to assess installation.
- Maintain technical specifications and user documentation.
- Completion of BOMs.
- Liaising closely with the Procurement Department to ensure all components are delivered within necessary timescales.
- Provide technical support and work closely and effectively with the sales, purchasing, production, manufacturing & build departments.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Degree / HND & +5 years minimum industry experience.
- In-depth knowledge of SolidWorks 3D CAD software with minimum 3-year experience.
- Impeccable attention to detail.
- Sound knowledge of manufacturing techniques and processes.
- Excellent time management.
- Effective communicator at all levels.
- Good team player.
- 'Hands on' practical qualities and approach to problem solving.
- Driving Licence.
