Our client is a leading freight forwarder and believes that providing a superior level of service matters, as do their network of carefully selected agents around the globe. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on individual who will strive to deliver excellent client services, with a broad expertise in all Customs environments, understanding the legal framework as well as the Customs and governmental requirements and regulations. This role is pivotal in ensuring our clients and stakeholders receive a service over and beyond expectations.
The core purpose of this role is to manage and lead a team of 3, which will include organising day-to-day activities including CHIEF Entries, CDS Entries, Duty Reclaims, Underpayments, Post Entry Amendments, staff management, advising existing customers for Customs Compliance, Import Airfreight quotations.
Duties Include:
- Air & Sea-freight Customs Clearance
- Creation and management of ERTS compliance records
- Inventory Controls
- Liaising with Border Force and other regulatory bodies
- Liaise with airlines / airport handlers in a professional manner in order to meet operational requirements and maintain up-to-date schedule information and shipment status reports
- Ensure all quality control procedures are updated and adhered to
- Audits/Compliance
- Duty & VAT Reclaims
- Customer queries and questions
- Raise any issues or concerns with colleagues or line manager regarding imports
- Ad hoc duties (Filing / Drop documents to Customs etc.)
What sort of person our client is looking for:
- Team management experience
- Knowledge of CDS for customs purposes is required
- Knowledge of different types of imports is required (e.g. bonded warehouse, IPR, TIB, etc.)
