SEN Teaching Assistant

As one of our valued Teaching Assistants, you will play a key role in the maintenance and management of the classroom. You will have the opportunity to work closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis, as well as assist in a more general capacity. We are looking for individuals with a variety of SEN experiences to join us in supporting the learners who need it the most. As well as being a patient and kind educator, Prospero are looking for those who are forward-thinking, proactive and co-operative in their approach.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

Location: Bristol
Type of work: Carry out professional duties, responsible for group support/1:1 support, ensure the safety and welfare of pupils, small group work, reading, forest school opportunities, support class teacher in delivering lessons
Start Date: September 2025 - assignments on-going
Rate of pay: £110 - £135
Hours: 08:30 - 16:00

EXPERIENCE

Desirable: Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (not essential)
Experience of working in Primary Schools
Experience of inclusive classroom practice
An understanding/awareness of supporting SEND requirements
Previous experience of supporting learning using a range of strategies, both with groups and on a 1:1 basis
Drives (not essential) able to travel on public transport

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold right to work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide two professional child related references
