My client, a prestigious global manufacturing business, are looking to recruit a technically strong Group Financial Accountant, to join their S Cheshire head office. The Group Accountant role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a small finance team, and contribute significantly to the company's financial operations. The successful candidate will have the chance to improve financial controls, lead audit processes, and develop junior members of the finance team. This position comes with a competitive package including bonus, healthcare, pension, and life insurance.

What you'll do:

  • Leading the UK management accounts team, responsible for a team of four junior accountants.
  • Improving and delivering robust financial controls across the general ledger.
  • Leading the day-to-day audit process to achieve agreed deliverables and reporting deadlines.
  • Responsibility for monthly subsidiary accounting, consolidation and reporting.
  • Preparing the year-end statutory accounts for Group entities.
  • Identifying opportunities across areas of responsibility to improve processes, controls, and analysis.
  • Providing ad hoc/ongoing support to Finance senior management across finance and legal areas.
  • Developing junior members of the finance team to enable succession planning and departmental skills for growth.

What you bring:

  • First time mover from practice, OR industry trained financial accountant ACA or ACCA qualification.
  • Experience of financial reporting under IFRS.
  • Keen interest in reporting and maintaining up-to-date knowledge.
  • Proactive organised individual.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative worker.
