Where will you be working?
This role will be required to be based in Hertfordshire 4 days a week. At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives. We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation.
Distribution and Connections
This role will be within our Distribution and connections division. As one of the largest Independent Connection Providers (ICP’s) in the UK, we support distribution network operations across infrastructure. Our team installs and maintains distribution networks and ensures reliable connections for customers, carrying out electrical planned work, customer connections and network reinforcement.
You’ll be part of our substation build team working on UKPN's 11kV, 33kV & 132kV Distribution Network on projects across the East of England. Your role will be to test and commission High Voltage Plant and apparatus onto the live distribution network integrating with existing protection schemes.
What will you be doing?
We’re looking for a skilled professional to join our team and provide technical support for our projects. You’ll attend client meetings, encourage innovation, and resolve design issues on site. Your role includes producing commissioning plans, testing and commissioning high voltage plant and apparatus, and ensuring compliance with current legislation. You’ll also review and correct drawings, manage people safely, and mentor team members to enhance their technical knowledge.
What you’ll bring
- Proven track record in Testing and Commissioning on High Voltage distribution networks
- Sound experience of engineering policy, procedure, and legislation
- Strong decision-making skill and ability to identify and develop processes to improve outputs
- Effective communication and engagement with internal and external stakeholders
- Knowledge of current Health, Safety, and Environment legislation
- Team player, working well with clients, designers, and site project staff
- Qualified to HNC/Degree Level in Electrical Engineering
- Do you have a full UK drivers licence? You will need to travel to various sites.
