Smart4Chemicals are looking to recruit a Qualifications & Materials Engineer for a leading materials manufacturer based in the Wrexham area. In order to be considered for this role as a Qualifications Engineer you must possess previous experience in working with composites materials either during education or in industry. You must also be degree qualified at a minimum in either Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry or a similar field.
As a Qualification and Testing Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and leading test programs for qualification or screening of composite materials for aerospace application in addition to much more.
To be considered for this role you must:
- Possess a minimum of a degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.
- Significantly experienced working with composite materials in industry.
- Previous experience working in the Aerospace industry is highly desirable for this role.
- Six-sigma certification is highly desirable.
- Mechanical testing experience such as tensile, compression and fracture testing are also required for this role.
Responsibilities include but aren’t limited to:
- Play a lead role in the qualifications team, scrutinising any unexpected results to eliminate errors and improve procedures going forward.
- Develop and lead test programs for the qualification of composites materials including prepregs for Aerospace application.
- Manage projects efficiently within strict timeframes and negotiate plans for specific projects within the team.
- Anticipate risks, future challenges and opportunities for improvement making recommendations within the team and wider business.
- Actively contribute to team development through coaching of junior engineers.
