Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Patient Experience team as Matron for Patient Experience and Engagement. This is a key critical role within the Trust, and we are looking forward to working with somebody who is innovative, a great communicator, and strives for positive patient experiences. The main function will be to provide leadership and direction to the Patient Experience Team to ensure they are delivering on the needs of the organisation for patient experience and engagement. The Matron will lead and develop the patient experience and voluntary services team to ensure that positive patient experience is embedded across the organisation. This is a full-time post working 37.5 hours per week.
Main Duties of the Job
- Provide outstanding nursing leadership across the Trust, working with the senior nursing and AHP leaders to ensure delivery of high-quality care and a positive patient experience.
- Lead and manage the patient experience team, working with divisional teams to learn from feedback, encompassing the patient and family voice to embed a just and learning culture.
- Collaborate with the Directorate Management Teams to provide expert advice and guidance on all patient experience matters.
- Develop a safe, skilled, and competent workforce in collaboration with divisional operational and nursing teams.
- Support clinical teams on the operational delivery of the key priorities set out in the Trust quality and safety strategy and the patient experience strategy.
- Liaise with Legal Services to advise of any complaints that may result in the complainant making a financial claim.
- Consult with and supply information to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman (PHSO) when required.
Person Specification
- Health professional with current professional registration.
- First level degree or equivalent in relevant subject.
- Experience of working in partnership across the organisation.
- Able to deal with complexity and ambiguity, always acting with integrity.
- Hold, or be working towards, a Master’s degree in a nursing/leadership or related subject.
- Skilled trainer, mentor, supervisor, or coach.
Leadership
- Leadership and influencing skills with the ability to enthuse, motivate, and involve individuals and teams.
