Hawkfield Recruitment is working with a family-run dealer group in the Aldershot area, and we are looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic insights to support decision-making processes. This position requires a strong understanding of financial accounting and management principles, as well as proficiency in various accounting software.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting with preparation of monthly reports and profit comparison to forecasts
- Helping to prepare monthly management accounts, e.g. fixed assets, accruals & prepayments
- Purchase ledger and other transactional tasks
- General office/administrative duties
- Conduct inter-company reconciliations
- Post month-end journals, including accruals, and prepayments
- Maintain financial schedules, such as the fixed asset register and accruals
- Complete month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensure monthly and weekly deadlines and schedules adhered to
- Handle employee expenses and supplier payment processes
Requirements:
- Background in transactional finance including purchase ledger, with some recent exposure to month end / management accounts
- Knowledge of Motor trade an advantage
- Knowledge of intermediate Excel (formulae and lookups)
- At least 3 years of experience in finance, including management accounting and accounts payable
- Part-qualified in CIMA/ACCA or AAT qualified, with plans for further studies
- Strong understanding of P&L and balance sheet reconciliations
- Detail-oriented, with a methodical approach to tasks
- A proactive team player with excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
