We are seeking a reliable and experienced HGV 1 CONTAINER DRIVER to join our team based in London Gateway and Purfleet. You will be required to carry out container deliveries utilising both Felixstowe and London Gateway and Southampton, hence needing a Rhides and DP World card preferred.
Duties:
- Safely operate a commercial vehicle, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securement
- Plan routes and follow delivery schedules
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents or delays
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members
- Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety, vehicle maintenance, and documentation
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Commercial driving experience preferred
- DCPC CARD
- Excellent knowledge of traffic laws and regulations
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently
