Are you passionate about making communities safer and supporting those affected by anti‑social behaviour? Southern Housing is seeking a dedicated Anti‑Social Behaviour Officer to join our Anti‑Social Behaviour team in Hastings.
Reporting to the ASB Manager, you will play a key role in delivering an excellent service to residents affected by anti‑social behaviour. You’ll triage new ASB reports, assess situations, and create action plans to investigate, manage risks, and support those affected. You’ll manage a varied ASB caseload, investigate incidents, evaluate evidence, and take appropriate action, including legal remedies. You’ll also contribute to neighbourhood strategies to tackle ASB.
This is a hybrid role, based at one of our Sussex offices (to be agreed with manager) at least 2 days a week. The role covers a patch including Worthing, Brighton & Hove, Crawley, Eastbourne and Bognor.
Responsibilities
- Completing risk assessments and dynamically assess situations to tackle ASB and support complainants.
- Investigating reports of nuisance, harassment, and anti‑social behaviour (and occasionally domestic abuse), and determine appropriate actions.>
- Deciding on additional measures for evidence gathering, such as sound recording and CCTV.
- Maintaining high standards of case management and support teams through supervision.
- Keeping meticulous records of all actions, discussions, and decisions.
What you’ll need
- Knowledge of legislation relating to tenancy enforcement, ASB and domestic abuse.
- Thorough experience in ASB case management in a social housing environment.
- Teamwork skills to deliver excellent service in a challenging environment.
- Professional curiosity to identify residents with support needs.
- Ability to manage resilience in a challenging environment.
