The care provided by K2 is intended to replicate the care normally given by family members and not those tasks that would normally be undertaken by a trained nurse.

Responsibilities:

As Team Leader, you will be expected to support and guide the Community Support Workers by ensuring that best quality of care and service is provided to Service Users. You will act as a role model for the Community Support Workers and lead best practice.

Management duties:

-To supervise Community Support Workers and ensure that employees are compliant in care practices and policy.

-To work and support the management team and attend regular meetings.

-To mentor and support Community Support Workers and report back to the K2 Care Management Team.

General duties:

-To help people with getting up in the morning, washing/bathing and dressing; helping with the undressing and getting to bed in the evening

-To make meals, drinks, snacks where necessary

-To provide assistance with toileting and with changing clothes and/or bedding where necessary; to empty and cleanse commodes, and wash and iron clothes and bed linen (which may include those items soiled by incontinence)

-To provide assistance with other tasks of daily living that the person cannot manage, which may include cleaning, shopping, collecting pensions and paying bills

-To encourage people towards a degree of independence and activity appropriate to their abilities

Within an agreed plan and in consultation with the Home Care Manager, to contribute to the supervision of people who have a tendency to wander, neglect themselves or put themselves at risk.

-To be aware of the appropriate action to take in an emergency

After appropriate training, to comply with Manual Handling legislation when moving Service Users

-To have the appropriate knowledge to the correct use of aids and equipments used by or with people in their normal daily lives, and to report any obvious defects

-To work with the Service User’s family or other carers to maintain the Service User in their home

-To provide general support to the Service User as part of a caring team

From time to time, you may be asked to fulfil duties related to the other areas of our business, as to the needs of the business; you are expected to carry these out with the same commitment as with all your work with K2 Care Ltd.

All duties are to be carried out with the up most care and with the assurance that they comply with all of K2 Care’s guidelines and policies.

Previous experience as a carer

-Level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care

-Ability to build good relationships with others

-Good communication skills

-Understanding of equality and diversity

-Willingness to learn

-Committed and have a passion to deliver excellent domiciliary care

-Have your own car and be able to drive

Desirable:

-Previous experience of managing a team
