We are looking to recruit a Night Team Member for 25.5 hours per week. These will likely be 3 midweek nights although occasional weekend working will be required. A certain amount of flexibility is needed as it may not be the same days each week. You will be working alongside a Manager each night.
YHA Manchester is located in the historic Castlefield area of Manchester, next to the canal but just a short 15 minutes walk to the city. We welcome visitors from all over the world with a good mix of organised groups such as schools, backpackers and party goers at weekends.
This is an active job with lots to do to keep you busy. You will be cooking items from our small night food menu as well as serving drinks from our bar until 2am. You will also be helping to clean our public areas and maintaining security of our building. Additionally, you will be on our reception allocating bookings and checking guests in.

What will you be doing as a Night Team Member?
We are a friendly team and will provide the training required for you to undertake the role. However, there is plenty for you to get stuck into from day one, including:
- Ensuring the security of the hostel, making every guest feel safe and welcome
- Working on reception, providing support to guests and preparing necessary reports
- Regular inspections to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort
- Carrying out cleaning duties, helping to prepare the breakfast service, and covering various tasks to ensure a seamless guest experience
What Skills and Experience do you need to be a Night Team Member?
Our Night Team Members undertake a wide range of customer-facing duties within the hostel, delivering an excellent service to all guests and visitors. To provide this service to our guests we are looking for the following qualities in our Night Team Members:
- Excellent timekeeping, with flexibility to cover different shifts - punctual, can work to deadlines
- Basic IT skills (ideally Microsoft Office) - able to use Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel
- A food safety qualification would be beneficial (desirable)
- Knowledge and understanding of the core purpose of YHA - what YHA does and how we do it
