Our client operates in over 20 countries and is renowned as a world-leader within its chosen markets. The company arranges insurance for some of the most fascinating risks on the planet and has a reputation for excellence, innovation, and formidable customer service.

An exciting, newly-created opportunity has arisen for a Head of Trading, focusing on driving performance and productivity alongside technical excellence, ultimately delivering profitability.

Your primary responsibility will be to deliver the overall New Business budget through leading the Broker Sales product teams. In conjunction with Broker Sales management, you will define and drive the sales activity, leveraging your expertise to drive operational efficiency, insightful data analysis, and excellence in service delivery.

Working in tandem with the Head of Strategic Brokers and Head of Regional Brokers, you will ensure alignment between sales operations and overall sales strategies. Duties will include, but not be limited to:

  1. Leading and optimising underwriting processes (i.e. new business processes).
  2. Leveraging technology to streamline operations and boost productivity.
  3. Developing strategies and initiatives to improve broker service experience.
  4. Regularly reviewing broker feedback to identify areas for service improvement.
  5. Implementing required changes while keeping a laser focus on quote, strike, and conversion rates.
  6. Embedding CRM usage into the team to ensure consistency and improved capability.
  7. Driving people-focused leadership accountability.
  8. Supporting Underwriter development via appropriate mentoring and training.

It is essential that you have previous experience of working within the General Insurance industry in a senior leadership team. We will consider talented insurance professionals from either a commercial broking or underwriting background, who have a successful track record of achieving growth. Strong analytical and data management skills, an understanding of project management techniques, and previous success in managing both internal and external partners are crucial. You must show a high level of competence in the use of data to robustly manage performance.

We are looking for a motivated and success-oriented individual who brings expertise, initiative, and a desire to build a market-leading business.

You’ll be a credible, engaging, and collaborative ambassador of the company, with the ability to cultivate long-term relationships within the industry.

You’ll be rewarded with a salary of up to £120K (Negotiable depending on experience), plus lucrative bonus, and a comprehensive company benefits package which includes substantial pension contributions.
