Job Description
The Household Assistant will be responsible for cleaning the main and outer buildings of the School, including classrooms, offices, washrooms, stairwells, and corridors to the required standards. The post holder will provide a professional, reliable, friendly, and helpful service to all users of the main and outer buildings.
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning, washing, sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, and vacuum cleaning of designated areas to the required standard.
- Removing and disposing of all rubbish from litter bins, ensuring proper waste and recycling practices are followed.
- Cleaning of toilets, wash areas, and shower areas, and ensuring supplies of toilet paper and hand towels are adequately provided.
- Spray cleaning, scrubbing floors, and resealing with polish.
- Laundry duties.
- Maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, health, and safety regulations for household staff and oneself.
- Reporting any Health and Safety issues around the buildings to the Household Manager.
- Using powered equipment such as scrubbing machines, wet pick-up machines, carpet cleaners, and vacuum cleaners in accordance with safe practices and procedures.
- Cleaning working surfaces and other furniture as directed.
- Cleaning up after floods or other emergency situations.
- Supporting colleagues and working as part of a friendly, helpful team.
- During school holidays, supporting the Household Manager in maintaining the required standards of cleanliness in all accommodation, main, and outer buildings of the school.
