Team
Corporate Finance is a key part of our practice and provides a range of specialist services including business disposals, accelerated M&A, acquisition advisory, management buyouts, equity and debt fund raising, and valuations. The Corporate Finance team plays a key role in the firm’s sector initiatives and has particular expertise in Consumer Products, Tourism, Hospitality & Leisure, and Industrials. Working with the firm’s broader client base, the corporate finance team advises on projects across all industries. The team provides advice to a range of stakeholders including corporates, management teams, private equity and hedge fund investors, and lenders.
What you’ll do
An opportunity has become available for a Senior Vice President (equivalent to AD Big4) to join our Corporate Finance team. The individual will work on a range of projects alongside other senior members of the team, whilst also having the opportunity to become involved in sector-focused business development initiatives. The successful candidate will manage transactions on a day-to-day basis and assist in training and developing junior members of staff. This opportunity would suit an enthusiastic, proactive, and committed individual, who combines deal experience, strong accounting and financial skills with sound commercial judgement. The ability to work effectively as part of a team, deliver high-quality output to tight deadlines, and have the confidence to challenge views and make recommendations are key requisite skills.
- Day-to-day responsibility for managing transactions and other projects, including the production of sale documentation, managing communications with potential purchasers and clients, producing and attending management presentations, managing due diligence processes, and reviewing and commenting on sale contracts and related documents while ensuring risk management procedures are being followed.
- Managing the production and review of complex financial models for transactions.
- Reviewing and critically analysing sets of financial accounts or projections and testing their veracity.
- Undertaking valuations of businesses using a variety of valuation methodologies and producing valuation reports.
- Conducting negotiations and providing relevant and accurate information, as well as assisting Partner & Managing Directors and Directors involved in complex negotiations.
- Assisting in practice development projects, such as internal training, presentations, and the production of marketing literature.
- Playing a lead role in business development initiatives in specific sectors, with client constituencies or identified opportunities.
- Maintaining and building a client network.
- Overseeing and directing client meetings.
- Assisting the senior team with the development and implementation of strategic plans.
- Playing a key role in the management of the team including resourcing, recruitment, and career development.
- Acting as a key point of contact and Corporate Finance Team representative to other service lines. Responsible for mentoring and developing more junior members of staff, providing constructive feedback on a formal and informal basis.
What you’ll need
- Demonstrate significant experience in Corporate Finance.
- Proven track record successfully managing transactions.
- Experience of both mainstream OR complex/special situations M&A.
- Highly numerate and analytical thinker.
- Able to produce well-structured, clear, and accurate written outputs.
- Possesses strong written and oral presentation skills.
- Able to work under pressure to meet challenging deadlines and make logical decisions.
- Demonstrates understanding of the importance of the risk management process.
- Able to manage a portfolio of projects.
- Well versed in working with a team of professionals and maintaining and developing contacts/relationships (existing relationships with mid-market PE houses is helpful).
- Develops self and others through coaching.
- Approachable and able to relate to people at all levels of the organisation.
- Strong team management experience and skills.
- Excellent English language skills (written and spoken).
- Strong Microsoft Office skills essential, in particular Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
