Our client is a very successful distributor of woodworking machinery and due to their continued success, Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Field Service Engineer.
The Field Service Engineer will have excellent mechanical engineering and basic 3-phase electrical fault find and repair skills. You will operate as a 'home based' field engineer responsible for maintenance and repair of machinery throughout South East England.
The Role:
The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for effective delivery of mechanical & electrical maintenance, service and repair of woodworking machinery at customer sites throughout South East England. Duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Mechanical maintenance activities will involve the removal and replacement of broken and worn component parts such as chains, sprockets, linear bearings, and ball screws.
- Carry out fault find and repair work on pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Electrical fault find and repair on motors, servos, and 415v and 24v circuits (ability to read electrical wiring drawings is essential).
- Machine installation & commissioning.
Candidate:
The successful candidate will have excellent mechanical engineering skills and 3-phase electrical fault find and repair skills. Previous experience with woodworking machinery will be advantageous; however, full training will be given. You will demonstrate good customer service and communication skills and you will be of a friendly disposition.
