I have a rare opportunity for someone with a background in care, and supervisory experience to join a forward-thinking, dynamic and supportive organisation as a Deputy Manager within a children's home.

You will join a friendly team and will play a part in leading, coaching, mentoring and supervising the team, as well as liaising with the wider community and the multi-disciplinary team to ensure that the service provides a nurturing and supportive environment to children with a history of trauma.

You will receive ongoing training and development with a structured programme to help you develop in your role and progress your career. The organisation is well-staffed and also has a dedicated team of bank staff to help cover when needed, so on-call callouts are minimal.

Terms
  • Hours of Work: Monday - Friday 9-5
  • On-call requirement (shared rota with other Managers): approx. 1 evening in 14 (call-outs to cover shifts are infrequent due to the substantial staff team in place and dedicated bank team).
Package of benefits including:
  • Free on-site parking
  • Free drinks and meals while on shift
  • Ongoing training and development including chance to gain Level 5 Leadership and Management in Care
  • Blue Light Card (online and high street discounts)
  • Company events including Summer BBQ and Christmas Party
  • Awards and incentives including Employee of the Month and peer mentoring voucher scheme
Salary: up to £35,000 depending on experience and qualifications

Please note, the role being advertised is a Deputy Manager position. However, if you are not quite at this level, but are a team-player with a kind and caring nature, a passion for supporting people, and an understanding of trauma background and challenging behaviours, there may be opportunity to receive coaching and development to fill the gaps in your experience.

About You:
  • You will have a minimum of 2 years experience within the care sector (within either adults or children's services)
  • You will have experience in a supervisory position ideally at Team Leader level or above
  • Experience of challenging behaviours (knowledge of trauma-informed care would be beneficial)
  • You will be a driver with a full manual license
  • Hold or willing to work towards Level 5 Leadership and Management in Care
  • Able to commit to a full-time, permanent role and participate in the on-call rota

This really is an outstanding opportunity for someone wishing to develop and gain qualifications in the care sector, or for someone wishing to move from adults to children's services. For full details and a chat in confidence, please apply with an up to date CV.
