The Role:
As an In Vivo Scientist, you will play a crucial role in designing, executing, and analyzing preclinical studies that drive our research programs forward. You will leverage your expertise in animal models to generate critical data that informs our drug discovery and development efforts. You will also be responsible for supporting junior team members through training and mentoring.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate competency in a broad range of in vivo techniques, including dosing, surgical skills and advanced procedures.
- Maintain and comply with Home Office legislation (Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986) for care and welfare of research species.
- Support the culture of care and high standards of animal welfare.
- Ensure meticulous record-keeping, including study data and animal health records.
- Provide high-quality data production and reports to Study Directors, ensuring scientific integrity and quality control.
- Support training on experimental procedures and regulatory compliance.
- Participate in maintaining facility sanitation, husbandry, and cage washing procedures.
What We’re Looking For:
- A degree (PhD, MSc, or BSc) in biology, pharmacology, or a related discipline.
- Hands-on experience in in vivo models, including dosing, surgery, welfare assessment, and ex-vivo tissue collection.
- A team player with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
