I'm keen to speak with Project Engineers to join our clients Nuclear Power Engineering and Technical Services team, supporting EDF. This is a pivotal role, and you will receive support and mentorship from experienced project engineering management professionals within the team, along with training and opportunities to develop and expand your project engineering management and leadership skills on larger and more complex projects. This role will be based at EDF's Heysham Power Station.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and maintain engineering documentation, including quality plans and technical specifications.
  • Manage technical queries in accordance with relevant processes and procedures.
  • Support the contractor selection and contract placement process.
  • Conduct technical reviews of contractor documents and drawings.
  • Perform technical appraisals of project options.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, site surveys, and liaise with designers and station engineering staff as required.
  • Prepare Engineering Changes and manage the preparation of supporting and affected documents.
  • Commission documents and act as test team leader where appropriate.
  • Support the Project Manager and Construction Manager in managing the project, ensuring work is carried out safely, timely, and effectively to its conclusion.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Typically, a Chartered Engineer or HND.
  • Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) qualification.
  • Formal project management qualification and familiarity with modern project management techniques preferred but not essential.
  • Experience in identifying, implementing, and complying with applicable safety, environmental, and quality standards, company procedures, policies, and other relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge and experience in delivering construction projects under CDM.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Background in working at Power Stations and Nuclear Licensed Sites preferred but not essential.
  • Proven track record of working within highly regulated environments with high safety standards.
