Joining our team as an Embedded Software Architect, you will use all your development skills on a range of systems and applications – from video equipment, to aircraft ‘black boxes’, satellite communication systems, control and monitoring systems, and much more. You’re going to fit in if you love using your skills on a wide variety of different projects – developing high-quality solutions to customer problems. When you join us, you will already have considerable experience developing embedded systems through the full lifecycle. But that\’s just the start of your story with us. You will have your own personal development plan, a mentor, your IET membership fees paid, and support for continued learning – e.g. becoming a Chartered Engineer. We are looking for an experienced systems engineer familiar with Agile embedded systems development to join our team. You must have a strong understanding of software engineering and be comfortable working with electronic systems. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including software engineers, FPGA engineers, electronic engineers, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and project managers to deliver integrated solutions. You must be experienced across the full systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements analysis for complex systems, system architecture, system verification and validation. Responsibilities Assisting with the generation of engineering estimates at the system level, for example, for quotations. Creating and maintaining a product backlog. Determining the feasibility of proposed systems, for example for cost and performance. Capturing, analysing, and managing system requirements, ensuring that these are well-defined, verifiable, and traceable throughout the product development process. Creating and refining system architectures to satisfy the requirements including constraints such as performance, cost, and size. Managing the interfaces between subsystems and external systems, guaranteeing interoperability, and required performance. Developing IV&V plans and procedures. Requirements We would love to hear from you if you have some of these skills and experience: Embedded programming experience is a ‘must have’. A team player who is adaptable and is willing to try new things and build new knowledge and skills. Quality focused and excellent attention to detail. Good communicator and able to work with a wide variety of colleagues and customers. Quick learner. Able to learn new technologies and tools and apply them to live applications.
