We are looking for a creative and strategic Social & Content Executive – Horticulture to join our Digital Marketing team. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting engaging, on-brand gardening & lifestyle content that resonates with our audience and drives growth across our social platforms and website. Reporting to the Head of Brand, you will develop compelling narratives, plan content marketing campaigns, and ensure that every piece of content is horticulturally accurate, seasonally relevant and aligns with our brand identity and business objectives. This role will also involve working with freelance contributors, specifically video editors, as and when needed to support content creation. Additionally, you will liaise with our external PR agency to ensure that campaigns are aligned with our overall marketing & brand strategies and that all communications match our brand's tone of voice (TOV). You will also be responsible for podcast planning and production for Grow, Cook, Eat, Arrange to ensure its continued success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute a social-first content strategy that enhances brand awareness and engagement.
- Create high-quality, engaging, and shareable garden focussed content across multiple platforms, including social media, website, and email marketing.
- Write compelling copy for website content, blog posts, landing pages, and digital campaigns.
- Plan and manage content marketing campaigns, ensuring they are aligned with brand goals, retail targets, seasonal trends and audience insights.
- Work closely with designers to develop visually appealing and impactful content assets.
- Organise, coordinate and produce shoots for content capture.
- Attend and manage on-set shoot production on photo & video shoots when required.
- Plan and produce episodes for the Grow, Cook, Eat, Arrange podcast, ensuring production runs smoothly for Sarah.
- Monitor content performance, analyse key metrics, and optimize content strategies based on insights.
- Stay up-to-date with digital and social media trends across gardening and relevant adjacent lifestyle categories.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent brand messaging across all touchpoints.
- Liaise with our external PR agency to ensure seamless alignment between PR campaigns and our brand strategy.
- Work with freelance contributors, including video editors, as needed to enhance content quality.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Horticultural knowledge and experience in gardening is essential (ideally RHS qualified, or similar).
- Proven experience in a content creation role, with a focus on social-first and digital content.
- Weekly and monthly content planning experience to ensure a structured and effective content pipeline.
- Performance reporting skills to track, analyse, and optimize content effectiveness.
- Exceptional copywriting and storytelling skills, with a strong grasp of brand tone of voice.
- Experience in writing copy across multiple channels, including social media, website, and email marketing.
- A keen eye for design and the ability to brief and collaborate effectively with designers.
- Experience planning and executing content marketing campaigns that drive engagement and conversions.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, best practices, and emerging trends.
- Proven involvement in video content creation, from ideation to execution.
- Highly organized with strong project management skills, able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience of using AI tooling is preferable for content creation and optimization.
