Our client is a very successful distributor of end of line packaging machinery and due to their continued success, Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Field Service Engineer. You will operate as a 'home based' field engineer responsible for maintenance and repair of machinery throughout the UK.
The Role:
The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for service and repair of wrapping and strapping machinery at customer sites throughout the UK. Duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Mechanical maintenance activities will involve the removal and replacement of broken and worn component parts.
- Carry out fault finding and repair work on pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Electrical fault finding and repair on motors, servos, and 415v and 24v circuits (ability to read electrical wiring drawings is essential).
- Machine installation & commissioning.
Candidate:
The successful candidate will have excellent mechanical engineering and good 3-phase electrical fault finding and repair skills. Ideally, you'll have an NVQ3 qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering. Preferably, you will have some experience in maintenance and repair of machinery e.g. machine tools, packaging or other manufacturing plant; however, full training will be given. Ex-military engineers are welcome to apply. You must be prepared to travel throughout the UK and occasional nights away from home if necessary.
