Nelson Permanent Placements are currently recruiting on behalf of an International Distribution business that specialise within the electrical market. Our client is looking for a Maintenance Technician who will be working alongside the Facilities Team to manage and contribute to the upkeep of the high spec site. The role of the Maintenance Technician is to focus on providing support to the operations of the site by carrying out repairs and driving improvements. You will be responsible for daily maintenance repairs, inspections and improvement of the site.
The Distribution Centre & Head Office you will be working from is a 100,000sqf state of the art facility. As a privately-owned SME sized business, our client’s employees are at the heart of what they do. Our client is the market leader in their sector and are looking for the best talent in the market to join their business. Our client routinely attends Trade shows across the UK and will require their Maintenance Technician to assist with this, by attending the trade shows to engineer and build the displays which may involve overnight stays.
To be considered for this role you must have:
- Strong background in site Maintenance and Carpentry
- Basic electrical and plumbing repairs
- Strong communication skills
- Strong working knowledge of H&S in a working environment
- Ability to use own initiative and problem solve.
Salary: £29-£31K
Working Hours: 08:30 - 17:00 (Monday-Friday)
Main Duties:
- Perform repairs across site as required to fixtures and fittings
- Painting and decorating
- General maintenance tasks as and when required
- Install appliances and equipment
- Assist in the upkeep of yards and landscaped areas
- Disposal of waste to designated areas
- Setting up of the meeting rooms
- Support with statutory inspections
- Help to promote a positive health and safety environment
- Provide support to other companies/sites within the group where necessary
- Travel to various trade shows across the country and Ireland, and set up the product display stands (will involve nights away)
- Assist in producing display material to keep all showrooms and trade stands up to date
- Support the Marketing team with preparation on the run up to trade shows
- Some flexibility will be required - occasional weekend working may be required
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- Driving Licence
- Basic Electrical Wiring Knowledge
- Decorating Skills, such as filling and painting
- Basic Plumbing and carpentry skills
- Helpful and professional manner
Desirable:
- FLT Licence
- MEWP Licence
- PAT Testing Qualifications
- Experience of Exhibitions or Trade Shows
