I am looking for a reliable personal assistant to cover the hours my main PA works when she is on leave for 8 weeks in February – April. I am looking for someone to offer me companionship, and assistance to enable me to socialise in and out of my home. I also need support with running my home.
My PA usually works Tuesdays from 10am to 4pm. On Wednesdays I like to attend a sewing class at Aberystwyth Arts Centre in the evening 5.15 to 9.15 pm. You are not required to take anything to attend. I need someone who can drive with own transport. I pay mileage and expenses at the end of each payroll period. If an adjustment of these times is required, I can consider changing.
About me
I am an anxious person with autism. I am a selective mute and cannot talk on a phone, I am frightened of it. I need you to do all phoning on my behalf such as phoning Scottish Power.
My mental health is such that I sometimes self harm, although rarely and may need support to contact emergency services.
I cannot manage in a shop or bank alone; I cannot go anywhere alone. I cannot plan or navigate a route and I may forget where we are going. I may ask where we are going or keep it as a surprise to when we get there!
I have an appreciation of anything creative, so someone interested in creativity, arts and crafts is ideal. No previous skills are required though. I do creativity 14 hours plus every day; I am happy doing this and have won competitions and published books.
I ask you to respect my Christian faith in the Bible, I do not go into pubs or bars where there is a lot of drink and like people to use clean language.
I may support to get my dosette box once a week which 2 support workers from the Care Society provides. Extremely rarely, they might both be cancelled. They support mw on a Thursday or Friday so, if Good Friday is out and if the Thursday carer cancelled too, I would need support in this situation.
If you are patient, understanding, and non- judgemental, this may be the right opportunity for you. I look forward to receiving your application.
