Financial Controller

Robert Half is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Financial Controller to oversee all aspects of financial management within the Wigan manufacturing site of this successful global business. Reporting directly to the Site Director and working closely with the Group FD, this role is key to driving financial performance, ensuring robust financial controls, and supporting strategic decision-making across the business. Key Responsibilities: Lead the site's financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.

Provide timely and accurate management reporting, including variance analysis, cost control, and performance insights. Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, internal controls, and statutory regulations. Partner with operational and commercial teams to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and profitability growth.

Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines. Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital management for the site. Support investment appraisals, capital expenditure proposals, and cost-benefit analyses.

Lead, coach, and develop a small finance team to ensure high performance and professional growth. Act as a key liaison with auditors, external advisors, and Group Finance on financial and compliance matters. YOU: Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).

Proven experience in a similar financial management or controlling role within manufacturing Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and hands-on approach. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. High attention to detail Strong systems knowledge (ERP experience preferred, e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
