City Harvest London
About City Harvest London
City Harvest London is a pioneering food redistribution charity dedicated to tackling food waste and hunger in the capital. Established in 2014, our mission is to rescue surplus food from various sources, including restaurants, supermarkets, and food manufacturers, and deliver it to those in need.
We believe that no good food should go to waste while people are going hungry. Our team works tirelessly to collect, sort, and distribute food to over 300 community organisations across London, including homeless shelters, food banks, and charities.
At City Harvest, we are committed to sustainability and social responsibility. By redistributing food that would otherwise be discarded, we not only help feed vulnerable individuals but also contribute to reducing the environmental impact of food waste.
Our operations rely on a network of dedicated volunteers and partnerships with local businesses. We engage the community through various initiatives, raising awareness about food waste and encouraging responsible consumption.
In addition to our core activities, we also run educational programmes aimed at teaching people about nutrition, cooking skills, and the importance of reducing food waste. We strive to empower individuals and communities to make informed choices about food.
As we look to the future, City Harvest London aims to expand our reach and impact, ensuring that more people have access to nutritious food while promoting a sustainable food system. Join us in our mission to create a hunger-free London.
