Reporting to the Managing Director, the Sustainability and Circularity Consultant / Manager will provide leadership, guidance and support to Waste Efficiency and our customers in support of our respective net zero, zero waste and circular economy objectives. Working with our leadership, commercial and operational teams you will guide and support colleagues with decarbonisation and circular economy advice, and assist customers with audits, report writing and advice, sometimes working at the customer's site. The Sustainability and Circularity Consultant / Manager will also maintain up to date carbon emissions data in our CADS2 waste management software system, be prepared to undertake detailed research into decarbonisation and circularity initiatives and develop technical and marketing information to support our growth objectives.
Responsibilities
- Business lead on all matters sustainability including decarbonisation, zero waste and circular economy initiatives
- Carbon data construction and validation
- Work with leadership, operational and commercial teams and advise them on best environmental outcomes
- Provide research led, science-based advice to our customers
- Provide research led, science-based marketing information
- Undertake customer audits, advise on best practice and write reports
- Maintain up to date Carbon data in our CADS2 waste management software system
- Lead and/or support on detailed research projects
- Investigate new technologies and initiatives and keep up to date with circular solutions
- Develop technical papers and bid / proposal content as required
- Help shape business responses to current and emerging environmental and social initiatives
Qualifications
- MSc in Waste Management, Environmental Sciences or similar sustainability focused subject
- A passion for the environment, and an interest in sustainability and the circular economy
- Analytical thinking, with proficient MS office and IT capabilities
- A versatile and comfortable communicator, both written and verbal
- Strong written English language skills
- An organiser, with effective time management and prioritisation capabilities
- Ability to negotiate with and influence stakeholders
- Waste and resource management industry experience preferable but not essential
- Prepared to travel throughout the UK when required
