What you'll do:
- Produce electronic and electrical designs, along with the appropriate manufacturing data.
- Analyse functional requirements, study potential solutions, and design the most efficient hardware to meet project needs.
- Understand and integrate system architecture to ensure compatibility with other hardware and software systems.
- Perform necessary calculations and simulations to validate design functionality before prototype production.
- Use CAD software to produce 3D layouts, wiring schematics, and PCB designs.
- Collaborate with software engineers on firmware and software integration where required.
- Write clear and detailed hardware specifications, documenting functionality and interfaces.
- Generate production-ready manufacturing data for efficient design production.
- Prepare test documentation for validation and functional testing.
- Participate in design reviews and progress meetings, presenting your work where necessary.
- Document the design process, from concept through to production.
- Stay informed on the latest technologies relevant to the company's products.
- Provide support for legacy products and develop solutions for obsolescence.
- Ensure adherence to the company's Quality Management System in all electronic and electrical engineering matters.
- Align work with the project plan and track progress to ensure timely delivery.
- Travel to customer premises in the UK and overseas as required.
- Complete documentation accurately and on time.
What you'll need:
