BH Live is currently recruiting Swimming Academy Teachers, Assistant Swimming Academy Teachers and Pool Assistants to join our team at Charter Community Sports Centre and The Mountbatten Centre.
Are you aspiring to become a Swim Teacher? Or are you already a Level 2 qualified Swim Teacher looking for a rewarding role as part of a great team? If so, we would love to hear from you.
- Swim England Level 1/STA Award: We are looking for Assistant Swimming Teachers where you can earn up to £12.21 per hour.
- Swim England Level 2/STA full certificate: BH Live is also recruiting Swimming Teachers to join our Portsmouth sites, with an earning potential of £20 per hour.
Swimming teachers are essential in ensuring people can learn to swim and enjoy the benefits of aquatics throughout their life. Becoming a swim teacher is an enriching journey that promises great satisfaction and the chance to positively impact lives.
Our Swimming Teachers:
- Complete group records of achievement for each class and take registers at the beginning of lessons.
- Provide a safe, informative, fun and productive lesson.
- Must be fully aware of the Centre's Normal Operating Procedures and Emergency Action Procedures.
- Uphold the expected standards, behaviours, and values of BH Live.
- As a Level 2 Swim Teacher, you will teach swimming following the Swim England Learn to Swim Framework.
To be successful you will need:
- A passion for swimming and experience working with children.
- To be a team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Ambition for continuous professional development.
- A Swim England Level 2/STA Award full certificate is required for our Swimming Teacher roles.
- To be available and able to work unsocial hours including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

If you don’t have a level 1 or 2 qualification but are a confident swimmer and are interested in joining our Swimming Academy, we can offer training and you can join our team as a Pool Assistant.
